Scripture – Observation – Application – Prayer

SCRIPTURE:

“And when Jesus entered Peter’s house, he saw his mother-in-law lying sick with a fever. He touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she rose and began to serve him.”

Matthew 8:14-15 ESV

OBSERVATION:

Many seem to focus more on the fact that Peter was married in this text than what the text tells us. Yes, Jesus did not condemn marriage for his apostles, so ministers can be married, but look at what happens here. Jesus entered, He saw, He touched, and He healed. The end result was that the one healed immediately began to serve Him.

APPLICATION:

When we bring Jesus into our world, He sees our needs. His touch changes everything. Many times our spiritual healing is more significant than our physical needs. The end result of a life touched by him should not only change our lives for the better, but gratitude would have us to immediately begin to serve Him.

PRAYER:

Father, let my service to you be a sign of the healing that not only took place at my salvation, but continues as I grow in you.
