Scripture – Observation – Application – Prayer

Scripture:

For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God. (1 Peter 1:23 NLT)

Observation:

This new life that we have been born again into is not a temporary thing. This will last for ever because it was given by and comes from the eternal living word of the one true God.

Application:

Some people think that our eternal life begins when we die and what we received when we were born again is something different. It is not. When we are born again, we have, at that point, eternal life. We do not wait until we die to get it. Since this is true, we, as believers, should live a holy life now and not wait. This is the promise and the expectation given to us by our God. He spoke it and it is so.

Prayer:

Father, I thank you for giving me eternal life as a part of my new birth. Help me to live as the new creation you have made me to be.
