Scripture – Observation – Application – Prayer
Scripture:
And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God. (1 Peter 2:5 NLT)
Observation:
We are the building products that God is using to build his church. Not only are we part of the building, but are also the priest that minister in the church through the authority of Christ we off spiritual sacrifices that please God.
Application:
As part of the church, we have to realize that all believers are what forms the church. And then as part of the church all believers are to have a ministry within the church serving with the power and authority of our Lord Jesus Christ. It might be noted that each part of the building materials of a church are not exactly alike but easy services a distinct service and if missing is noticed. By the same token, the service of each priest in the temple of God fulfilled different functions. Don't try to be something you are not, but serve in the place and fashion God has made you to serve. Your sacrifice will be different than someone else's, but it will be equally important to God.
Prayer:
Father, help me to be who you have made me to be. Nothing more and nothing less. And let my sacrifices be pleasing to you as I fill the role you have placed me both as a building block of the church and as a minister in the church.
