Scripture – Observation – Application – Prayer
The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment. (2 Peter 3:9, 10 NLT)
Just because Jesus has not come back yet, does not mean He is not coming back. He is coming back, but he has been patient for our sake. He wants everyone to repent and get saved. But don’t fool yourself, he will come back when we least expect it and everything as we know it will be over.
We must remember and remind everyone that Jesus will return at any time. He is giving us every chance to repent and come to know him, but it is not worth the risk to take the chance that he is not coming back soon.
Father, give us the wisdom we need to know how and when to share your gospel with others. The time is short and we do not want to leave anyone behind.
